...Very Cold Temperatures to Begin Next Week... While temperatures are currently below normal, we anticipate a cool down to continue at the beginning of next week through midweek. Strong, cold, northerly flow will bring temperatures in the 20s below zero or colder across most of the West Coast by Tuesday morning. Locations near Kotzebue Sound and Selawik may even approach 40 below zero by Tuesday morning. Much of the Seward Peninsula likely will be well into the 20s below zero, St. Lawrence Island will be in the single digits and teens below zero and the Yukon Delta will be in the teens and 20s below zero as well. There will be some cloud cover around which should keep temperatures relatively milder, but where it's clear will be very cold. Temperatures will try to moderate by the end of the week with an increase in southerly flow. BB
