* WHAT...For the Freeze Warning, a hard freeze with temperatures as
low as 23 expected. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind
chills as low as 18 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Alabama and southwest Georgia.

* WHEN...For the Freeze Warning, from 9 PM EST /8 PM CST/ this
evening to 8 AM EST /7 AM CST/ Tuesday. For the Cold Weather
Advisory, from 11 PM EST /10 PM CST/ this evening to 8 AM EST /7
AM CST/ Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other
sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor
plumbing.

Information:
Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes
they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those
that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover
above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.

...ELEVATED FIRE DANGER ACROSS SOUTHWEST AND SOUTH CENTRAL GEORGIA TODAY...

A very dry airmass combined with gusty winds will result in an
elevated fire danger across southwest and south central Georgia
today. Minimum relative humidity will drop to 20 to 25 percent
this afternoon. Winds will be out of the northwest at 10 to 20 mph
with gusts of 25 to 30 mph.

With dry fuels and ongoing drought, elevated fire danger is
expected.

Please refer to your local officials and burn permitting
authorities whether your may burn outdoors. If you do burn
outside, use extreme caution.
