...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM EARLY THIS MORNING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...

Illinois River at La Salle affecting Bureau, Putnam and La Salle
Counties.

For the Illinois River (Upper)...including La Salle...Minor flooding
is occurring.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Illinois River from Starved Rock Lock and Dam downstream
to confluence with Big Bureau Creek, including the La Salle gauge.

* WHEN...From early this morning until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Agricultural areas in La Salle, Spring
Valley, and Peru are inundated.
At 22.0 feet, Lower parking lot at Starved Rock State Park is
inundated east of La Salle. High water levels begin to impact
shipping interests along the river.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 4:45 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 20.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The river rose into minor flood stage last
night.
- Forecast...The river is expected to continue rising and crest
near 23.5 feet on Sunday.
- Flood stage is 20.0 feet.

Information:
A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.
