...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON... ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... Wabash River at Vincennes. Wabash River at Riverton. White River at Hazleton. White River at Petersburg. Wabash River at Mount Carmel. Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site. .Minor flooding continues on the White River from Petersburg down to the Wabash and on the Wabash River from the Hutsonville area down to Mount Carmel. The crest on the White was near Hazleton while the crest on the Wabash was near Vincennes late Wednesday. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Mount Carmel. * WHEN...Until early Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, River is bankfull in all locations. All oil field production ceases with the exception of pumping units on substructures. Access to these are by boat only. Agricultural losses increase dramatically. Farmers move livestock to higher ground. City of Mount Carmel leaves flood gates B and C in year round. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM EDT Wednesday /7:45 PM CDT Wednesday/ the stage was 19.8 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 8:45 PM EDT Wednesday /7:45 PM CDT Wednesday/ was 19.8 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 20.1 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday morning to 17.9 feet Saturday evening. It will rise to 18.1 feet Sunday evening. Wabash River at New Harmony. .Recent heavy rainfall is continuing to cause rises on the Wabash River. At New Harmony, the river will climb above flood stage this evening, cresting around a half foot above flood stage Friday. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at New Harmony. * WHEN...From this evening to late Saturday evening. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 14.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 15.5 feet early Friday morning.
