FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT SUNDAY


Areas Affected: Alcona, MI; Alpena, MI; Cheboygan, MI; Iosco, MI; Montmorency, MI; Oscoda, MI; Otsego, MI; Presque Isle, MI

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.

* WHERE...A portion of northern Michigan, including the following
counties, Alcona, Alpena, Cheboygan, Iosco, Montmorency, Oscoda,
Otsego and Presque Isle.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM EDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1158 AM EDT, Emergency management reports ongoing flooding
across parts of the warned area.
- Rainfall up to one tenth of an inch fell across portions of
the warned area Friday night into early Saturday.  Drier
weather is expected in the coming days, which should result
in a slow improvement in flood conditions.

Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
