...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in
Michigan...

Sturgeon River near Chassell affecting Baraga and Houghton
Counties.

Sturgeon River near Alston affecting Baraga and Houghton Counties.

.Snowmelt and recent rainfall resulting in rivers reaching critical
levels.

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.

* WHERE...Sturgeon River near Alston.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Additional homes and structures near the
river are impacted and evacuations may be necessary. Water levels
may reach the bottom of Froberg bridge in addition to other
bridges that cross the river

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:30 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 11.6 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 7.5 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:30 AM EDT Sunday was 11.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall to minor flood stage
this evening, settling further through Tuesday, April 21 to
just below minor flood stage at 7.9 feet. The river then
rises back above flood stage Wednesday morning and continues
rising to 8.6 feet Sunday, April 26.
- Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
11.6 feet on 07/16/1968.
