...INCREASED FIRE DANGER THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON FOR UNION COUNTY NC... The combination of low relative humidity, gusty winds throughout much of the day, and dry fuel moisture will lead to increased fire danger across Union County today. Most areas received little to no rainfall with the recent system, so fuels are expected to dry out quickly. Fires will catch and spread rapidly under these conditions. Outdoor burning is discouraged. Consult your local burn permitting authority on whether you may burn today. If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.
