...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 AM CDT EARLY THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Milam County in central Texas... * WHEN...Until 530 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 228 AM CDT, Flooding is ongoing in the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Rockdale, Cameron, Thorndale, Buckholts, Alcoa Lake, Milano, Yarrelton, Crossroads, Silver City, Hoyte, Jones Prairie, Elevation, Minerva, Pettibone, Hanover, Praesel, Maysfield, Ben Arnold, Sharp and Burlington.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
