...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM AKST THIS EVENING...

...PERIODS OF SNOW SHOWERS THROUGH THURSDAY...

.Snow showers are making their way across the gulf and will
continue to stream in from the west through Wednesday night. Sea
level temperatures from Angoon and Sitka southward are still in
the mid to upper 30s as of 3 pm which is resulting in more of a
mix in precip type where the showers are starting up. Expect
those temperatures to start to decrease later this evening with
showers becoming more widespread and precip types at low
elevations becoming more snow. Yakutat is already seeing heavier
snow showers which will continue to move into that area into
early this evening.

* WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 4 to 6
inches. Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Visibility could be as low as
a quarter mile at times.

* WHERE...City and Borough of Yakutat.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery conditions.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Around 9 inches has already been reported
from the Yakutat area around noon from heavy snow showers.
Expect those showers to persist through the early evening
before tapering off this late this evening.

with you in case of an emergency.

winter weather.
