...HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT AKST TONIGHT... ...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 6 PM AKST THURSDAY... * WHAT...North winds 30 to 50 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected. A few isolated gusts to 75 mph possible. Wind chills dropping to 20 below zero Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon. * WHERE...Seward and vicinity. * WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until midnight AKST tonight. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 6 PM this evening to 6 PM AKST Thursday. * IMPACTS...High winds may move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel will be difficult. The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 20 minutes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Northerly winds will rapidly strengthen Tuesday night, then peak through Wednesday. Winds will then begin to slowly diminish Wednesday night through Thursday. Wind chills as low as 25 below zero overnight Wednesday could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken.
