...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM AKST THIS EVENING... ...PERIODS OF SNOW SHOWERS THROUGH THURSDAY... .Snow showers are making their way across the gulf and will continue to stream in from the west through Wednesday night. Sea level temperatures from Angoon and Sitka southward are still in the mid to upper 30s as of 3 pm which is resulting in more of a mix in precip type where the showers are starting up. Expect those temperatures to start to decrease later this evening with showers becoming more widespread and precip types at low elevations becoming more snow. Yakutat is already seeing heavier snow showers which will continue to move into that area into early this evening. * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches. Gusts to 40 mph. * WHERE...Municipality of Skagway. * WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be difficult. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Highest snow totals will be on the Klondike highway. Skagway is still in the mid 30s for temperatures and will see much lower snow totals then higher on the Klondike Highway.
