...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 4 PM AKST THURSDAY...

...PERIODS OF SNOW SHOWERS THROUGH THURSDAY...

.Snow showers are starting to make their way across the gulf
today and will continue to stream in from the west through
Wednesday night. Sea level temperatures from Pelican and Skagway
southward are still in the mid to upper 30s as of 11 am which is
resulting in more of a mix in precip type for the north where the
showers are starting up. Expect those temperatures to start to
decrease later this afternoon with showers becoming more
widespread and precip types at low elevations becoming more snow.
Yakutat is already seeing heavier snow showers which will continue
to move into that area into early this evening.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 7
inches. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...City and Borough of Sitka and Prince of Wales Island.

* WHEN...From 6 PM Wednesday to 4 PM AKST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous
conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow accumulations will be highly
variable with localized locations having a chance of seeing
accumulations a few inches higher or lower then the above
range.
