...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM PDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 3 to 8 inches for communities surrounding Lake Tahoe and up to 7000 feet, and 8 to 12 inches above 7000 feet and for Sierra passes, with higher amounts up to 15 inches over the crest. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph along the Sierra crest and 20-45 mph for communities surrounding Lake Tahoe. Wave heights for Lake Tahoe from 1 to 3 feet. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area. * WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible during snow bursts. Gusty winds could break tree branches.
