...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY AFTERNOON TO EARLY MONDAY MORNING...

...The National Weather Service in Chicago IL has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Illinois...

Des Plaines River at Riverside affecting Cook County.

For the Des Plaines River...including Riverside...Minor flooding is
forecasted.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecasted.

* WHERE...Des Plaines River from Roosevelt Road in Forest Park
downstream to Hodgkins, including the Riverside gauge.

* WHEN...From Saturday afternoon to early Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Park areas are inundated near the
confluence of Des Plaines River and Salt Creek.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 PM CDT Friday the stage was 6.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 7.9 feet Sunday
morning. It will then fall below flood stage late Sunday
evening.
- Flood stage is 7.5 feet.

A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.
