...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

...The National Weather Service in Chicago IL has issued a Flood
Watch for the following rivers in Illinois...

Rock River at Rockford (Auburn Street) affecting Winnebago County.

* WHAT...Flooding is possible.

* WHERE...Rock River from Shorewood Park in Loves Park downstream to
confluence with Kishwaukee River, including the Rockford (Auburn
Street) gauge.

* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 5.0 feet, Low-lying areas of Blackhawk Island are
inundated south of Rockford. Low-lying areas of Field Gem Park are
inundated south of Rockford.
At 5.5 feet, Low-lying sections of the Rock River Recreation Trail
are threatened in Rockford. Riverview Mobile Home Park is
threatened in Rockford.
At 6.5 feet, River Bluff Court and River Court are threatened in
Loves Park. Marinelli Field is threatened in Blackhawk Park.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 PM CDT Friday the stage was 4.2 feet.
- Forecast...Flood stage may be reached based on the latest
rainfall estimates. The river is expected to crest on Monday.
- Flood stage is 6.0 feet.

Information:
A Flood Watch means water levels above flood stage are possible, but
not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Persons along
rivers and streams in the watch area should monitor the latest
forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.
