...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

...The Flood Watch continues for the following rivers in Indiana...

Kankakee River at Shelby affecting Lake IN and Newton Counties.

Kankakee River at Dunns Bridge affecting Jasper and Porter
Counties.

For the Kankakee River...including Shelby...flooding is possible.

* WHAT...Flooding is possible.

* WHERE...Kankakee River from Near I-65 and De Motte downstream to
IL/IN state line, including the Shelby gauge.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 10.5 feet, Water overflows low-lying river banks
along Bluegrass Road east of Sumava Resorts and along Westwood
Drive and Island Boulevard near Shelby. Water begins to be
diverted through the Blackberry Marsh Spillway to reduce flood
impacts.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:45 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 9.9 feet.
- Forecast...Flood stage may be reached on Sunday.
- Flood stage is 10.5 feet.

Information:
A Flood Watch means water levels above flood stage are possible, but
not yet certain, based upon the latest forecasts. Persons along
rivers and streams in the watch area should monitor the latest
forecasts and be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.
