...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM CDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Western Dawson County in south central Nebraska...
Gosper County in south central Nebraska...

* WHEN...Until 200 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1136 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already
occurring in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of
rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Muddy Creek, Spring Creek, East Branch Turkey Creek, Deer Creek,
Elk Creek, Turkey Creek, East Branch Muddy Creek, Plum Creek,
Buffalo Creek, North Plum Creek, Swartz Creek, West Branch Turkey
Creek, Elder Creek, Dry Creek, Johnson Lake Area, Stump Ditch
Creek, Gallagher Canyon State Recreation Area and West Buffalo
Creek.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cozad, Gothenburg, Elwood, Johnson Lake, Willow Island and
Farnam.

Information:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
