...Breezy winds and low relative humidity expected Thursday...

.The combination of breezy winds and low relative humidity is
expected to generate weather conditions conducive to rapid fire
spread for new and existing fires in the lower Columbia Basin,
Yakima and Kittitas valleys, and the Warm Springs Reservation.

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from noon to 9 PM PDT Thursday. The Fire Weather Watch is no
longer in effect.

* AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 690 Kittitas Valley and 691
Lower Columbia Basin of Washington.

* TIMING...From noon to 9 PM PDT Thursday.

* WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
